General Information KW

The Twin cities of Kitchener and Waterloo, commonly known as KW, form a vibrant cosmopolitan community of nearly 300,000 people, in the heart of Southwestern Ontario.

Originally settled in the early 1800s, by German Mennonites from Pennsylvania, Kitchener-Waterloo maintains a distinct flavour of its heritage, while embracing its multiculturalism.

Northfield Garden Apartments

Northfield Gardens is located in North Waterloo in the subdivision known as Colonial Acres North. Built in the 1980’s, the subdivision of predominantly high-end single-family homes grew up around the buildings. This area offers all amenities close to home.

Shopping

Conestoga Mall, the largest Mall in Waterloo, is within walking distance (2 blocks) and offers a wide variety of shops and a grocery store. The complex also includes a multi-screen movie theatre.

Also located within walking distance of this Residential Complex you will find small shops, building supplies, stationery, car care, and restaurants.

Recreation

RIM Park is a sporting complex that offering fitness and skating facilities, numerous sports fields, walking and biking trails, golf and more. This full service facility is also within walking distance.

Transportation

Bus Service: Just 2 blocks away, the public transit bus stop allows access to a large number of routes. School buses travelling to both the Public and Catholic schools pick up passengers at the front of the buildings.

Expressway

The expressway is 1.5 KM distance, offering easy access to Kitchener and the 401.

Heritage Place

Built in 1986, the Heritage Place residential apartment building is located in the Stanley Park Area, a quiet suburbia featuring an abundance of greenspace, tree-lined streets and quiet crescents. This neighbourhood offers all amenities close to home.

Shopping

The Stanley Park Mall features many shops, banks and a grocery store. The area also offers small specialty shops, car care, pharmacies and restaurants.

Recreation

The Lyle Hallman Pool & Recreation Centre offers swimming for all ages, a water slide, and programs such as dance, judo, crafts and programs for children and seniors. The Grand River Arena offers a variety of skating and recreational programs.

The area also offers the Grand River walking and bike paths, and public playgrounds. These facilities are located within walking distance of the Heritage Place apartment building.

Transportation

Public bus service is only half a block away. The Expressway entrance is close by, providing easy access throughout the KW area.

The Estates

The Estates Apartment was built in 1965 in a predominantly single-family residential area known as Mount Hope. Located in the heart of Kitchener this is a mature area of quiet tree-lined streets, parks and an abundance of greenspace.

Shopping

The Estates is located in the centre of many shopping experiences. All amenities are close to home, without the high volume of traffic at your door. To the North West, the Lincoln Centre Plaza features a variety of large and small stores, including a grocery store. To the South, the Downtown Kitchener Core features numerous small shops, restaurants, fitness and recreational opportunities. To the East, the Frederick St. Mall offers many shops, banks, car care, restaurants and a movie theatre.

Recreation

The Breithaupt Centre offers numerous programs for all ages, including dance, crafts, and swimming programs. There is also an active seniors' program.

The Breithaupt Park offers sports fields, and walking, hiking and biking trails in this very spacious naturalized park area.

Memorial Auditorium, a short drive away, offers numerous community programs and events, including the Kitchener Rangers hockey team.

Transportation

Public Transportation is available at the front of the building. Expressway access is less than 5 KM away, providing easy access throughout Kitchener-Waterloo and to Highway 401.

The twin buildings of Ridgeway & Somerset are conveniently located 4 blocks from the Fairview Mall, in the heart of the Vanier Neighbourhood. . This area boasts all the amenities of a family neighbourhood, including nearby public parks, schools, shopping, and recreational facilities.

Shopping

The Fairview Mall - Kitchener’s largest - is just 4 blocks away and features an abundance of shops, restaurants and banks. This area is also home to numerous small specialty shops, home supplies, crafting stores, toy stores, car care, and restaurants.

Recreation

The Patrick J Doherty Arena offers a variety of skating and hockey programs. The Wilson Outdoor Pool offers various swimming and recreation programs. Local Public Parks also provide summer programs for children. The Fairview Mall offers a morning mall walk program, and numerous seasonal and special activities for all ages.

Transportation

The bus stop is conveniently located beside the building, and the transfer station, allowing access to most bus routes in the city, is just 4 blocks away. The Expressway entrance is nearby, providing easy access through Kitchener-Waterloo and to Highway 401.
